This event is presented by both the Detroit  & Saginaw Valley Regions of the SCCA.

This event for "Regional" points will count as 2 events.  One for Saturday & one for Sunday.

For the GLSS, this will be three courses combined time in 2 days for trophies, but I believe that each race will count as seperate GLSS points.  This event is the SVR's GLSS event for 2012 even though we are co-hosting.

Start off your Saturday at Oscoda with not one, but two courses.  We will be grilling out while the course redesign takes place.  Since this is an Oscoda event, we will have the dogs, burgers and beverages for you.

After lunch & refreshments the racing resumes on the afternoon course.

On Sunday there will be a third course but only one racing session.

This event will have a minimum of 12 runs over the two days.  If 12 + runs aren't enough for you, make it a 3 day weekend & attend our Friday Test N Tune.  Work a 1 - 2 hour shift & then play all day.

SCHEDULE for the Event:

Friday August 17:
Test N Tune set up 10:00a.m.
Run cars immediately after set up - 4:00 p.m.
Limited Entry 40 drivers

Registration & Tech 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.
Course walking 6:00 p.m. - Dark

Saturday August 18:
Registration & Tech 7:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
Course walking till 8:30 a.m.
Drivers Meeting 8:45 a.m.
First car off immediately afterwards
Event format is 4 runs in A.M.
Lunch
Change course 4 runs in P.M.

Sunday August 19:
Course walking till 8:00 a.m.
First Heat cars to grid 8:00a.m.
First car off 8:30 a.m.

Test N Tune ONLY  $20   or $15 with event
Entry Fee SCCA Member: $60 for BOTH days  or $40 one day
Jr Drivers  $35 for BOTH days or $20 one day
Non SCCA Members must purchase a weekend membership for $15

Jr Drivers will have their own seperate practice course available all weekend (located away from the cars) for no charge to the parents

For rooms & lodging go to Link />
SPECIAL NOTE:  The site no longer allows use of grass areas for any activity beyond dog walking.  This means camping on site is permitted but must be on the asphalt.  We ask all competitors to help enforce this provision so we can cntinue to enjoy this great facility in the future.

Look for Registration on Link

Hope to see you there !!

Ray,

I am actually flying out Saturday for work, but I am planning on going to the test and tune Friday to get some much needed seat time in the beast before nationals. I can help with the setup and the test and tune on Friday.

I'll be there to put 40+ runs on the kart, maybe more.

I'm in. Now which cheap motel close to Wurtsmith should I choose? This is my first time going to Oscoda...

Lake Trail Resort is my personal favorite, but its probably not the cheapest (~$80 per night). Nice, breakfast included and might be the closest to the event site.

The Rest -All has a pool, but is probably one of the more expensive ones.

This is where I will be at with the kids.

Err, this might seem like a silly question to the veterans, but for total noobs like myself...

Where exactly at the Air Force Base is the event held? I don't want to drive on to the runway and get impounded for several years in Cuba.

This is the flyer from the last event.  It has a decent map.

There's also the Northern Traveler (across the street from Lake Trail). I used to stay there years ago when I used to bring our dogs. Redwood Lodge is south of town, further than the others. If you get a room in the new section (well, it's now probably 15 years old), they're pretty good.

And, Eric, for eats, Wiltse's is a favorite (lots of the autocrossers eat there) and there's also Tait's Bill of Fare downtown (more upscale).
