Going to last weekend's WOR event. 40 miles from site, start driving through a real frog-strangler. Can only see the car in front of me in the moment right after the wiper blade sweeps past their taillights. (Do I lift? NO) Call Chris to see what's up at the site. Storm had just passed over them, sun's out.
At site. Starts raining again an hour later. 30/30 rule goes into effect at driver's meeting. Go to recon the course during the wait. Very slippy. I predicted that one sidehill would be unnavigable.
Rain stopped when the 30 minute wait period was up. Ground was already grippy in spots. First heat had slippy conditions, second heat had some slippy and some grippy.
Lunch break, then first heat had grippy and some dust, final heat had dusty conditions degrading into slippery silty mess. (Yes, I was braking FAR too late for some of the corners, expecting grip that wasn't there)

Thanks to everyone indeed! I have a question that may be answered on here. There was mention of a need for more safety stewards. I'd be interested, but I would only be available to cover a handful of events. Would it be worth the while for me to obtain such credentials? If so, somebody let me know, I'd be interested.
