60th Anniversary "Triathalon" Solo/RallyCross/RoadRally - Registration Open! Registration is open for the 60th Anniversary Triathalon event. The event will be held September 13th at the Fowlerville Fairgrounds, in Fowlerville, MI. Register online here: http://www.myautoevents.com/pls/mae/frmEventDetail.Show?psevent_id=9444 The event will consist of a Solo in the morning, RallyCross in the afternoon, and a Poker/TSD Rally in the evening. Total times of all the events will be combined to determine class winners (cumulative time from Solo and Rallycross runs, plus 1/2 penalty time from the TSD rally). We'll use RallyCross car classes for this event. The rallycross course is very smooth, don't be afraid to take your cars out on it. I've seen RX-8s, Crossfires, and Porsche 968s run on this and similar courses, with no problem. Note - for the rallycross, you must have a fixed roof - no convertibles allowed. If your only car is a convertible, feel free to hop on the RallyCross forum and see if anyone might be willing to let you borrow/rent their car for the RallyCross part of the event. You may enter as a competitor for $60, or as a spectator for $30. Entry for either will include a golf shirt with a 60th Anniversary logo on it, snacks between the RallyCross and TSD Rally, and dinner and pop/beer after the RoadRally. This will be a fun event, none of the events will count towards any points championships. Come on out and help us celebrate 60 years of having learning about and enjoying our cars! Marcus Merideth campaigning for SCCA Board of Directors Position Westland, MI – July 18, 2008 – Marcus Merideth announced today that he will be seeking the position as the SCCA Board of Directors member representing Area 4 in the up coming November election.

Tire Rack - American Express Members Project Dear Tire Rack Street Survival supporter, Tire Rack Street Survival® has been nominated for consideration for the American Express Members Project! If we get enough support we could qualify for funding - the top project will receive $1.5 million, the second place project will receive $500,000, the third place project will receive $300,000 and two additional projects in the Top Five will receive $100,000 in funding.
Whether a cardmember or not, everyone is invited to participate by commenting on and nominating their favorite projects online. You can help Street Survival secure much needed funding by spending just one painless minute at the Members Project website. Once the submission phase closes on August 19, American Express will work with an Advisory Panel of experts to review the projects and announce the Top 25 submissions on September 9.
It's up to Cardmembers to ultimately choose which projects American Express will fund. Cardmembers can make a collective difference by casting their vote, showing their support for their favorite projects, and narrowing down to the Top Five projects starting September 30. The winning projects will be those with the most Cardmember votes, announced October 14.
